Lucia Turco joined the Bologna office of Zunarelli – Studio Legale Associato in June 2024.

She primarily operates in the fields of international commercial law, civil law, transport and logistics law, maritime and port law, and administrative and public procurement law, providing judicial and extrajudicial legal advice and assistance, at national and international level.

Lucia Turco graduated with full marks from the University of Bologna in 2025, completing a double degree program in Italian and French law in partnership with the University of Paris Nanterre (Paris X).

At the same French University, she obtained a Licence en Droit in 2022 and the Master Bilingue en Droit Étranger – MBDE (Specialization in French Law and Italian Law) in 2025. Her master’s thesis in Labor and Transport Law concerned the regulation of strike action in public services in the Italian and French legal systems.

Notable Cases

  1. Drafting of a memorandum concerning the regulation of distribution agreements in certain North African countries (International commercial law)
    Advice to an Italian company through the drafting of a memorandum on the regulation of distribution agreements in Libya, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait. The document provided an essential regulatory framework on the typical critical issues of cross-border transactions: severance pay, applicability of local law, competent jurisdiction and validity of arbitration clauses.

  2. Property dispute over a dry dock (Maritime Law – Administrative Law)
    Legal assistance provided to a concessionaire/owner in a dispute concerning the claim of private ownership of a dry dock built on land whose state ownership was disputed.

  3. Assistance to a consortium of beach concessionaires in view of the re-tendering of concessions (Administrative Law)
    Legal support and advice to a consortium of beach concessionaires during the critical phase of the imminent re-tendering of maritime state concessions. The activity included analysing issues related to the application of the Bolkestein Directive and developing a defensive/proactive strategy in view of the reform of the tender regulations and the protection of legitimate expectations.

  4. Assistance to an Italian company in its relations with a Chinese supplier of chemical products in light of Chinese legislation on the export of dual-use products (International commercial law)
    Legal assistance to an Italian company regarding the analysis and management of export control risks arising from Chinese legislation on dual-use goods. Support focused on verifying the compliance of the supply, preventing potential sanctions and ensuring business continuity in compliance with complex international and local regulations.

  5. Dispute over the planning jurisdiction of the Port System Authority and the prevalence of the Port Master Plan over general urban plans (Maritime and port law – urban planning law)
    Legal assistance to a Port System Authority (AdSP) in a dispute over the definition of planning jurisdiction and the relationship of prevalence between the Port Master Plan (PRP) and general urban planning instruments.
