Iolanda Cavallo joined the Bologna office of Zunarelli – Studio Legale Associato in February 2020.
She provides judicial and out-of-court advice and assistance in the field of corporate and commercial law, civil law and transport law, at both national and international level.
She delivered lectures on tourism and transportation law for several foundations in Bologna.
She was formerly a research fellow at the University of Pisa under the SICOMAR project.
Iolanda Cavallo co-hosts the podcast “On the road”, which explores contemporary issues in mobility, transport, and logistics.
At the age of 23, she graduated in law with honours from the University of Salerno, with a thesis in Commercial Law entitled: “Il passaggio generazionale nelle società e nelle imprese italiane tra efficienza allocativa e salvaguardia del valore dell’impresa”.
She is a member of the Bologna Bar Association since January 2022.
She collaborated with a law firm based in Salerno in the fields of banking and financial law.

- International Commercial Law – Supply Agreement and Trademark Infringement
Legal assistance and out-of-court advice to a Maltese company in a transnational dispute arising from a multi-year supply agreement. The dispute concerned, on the one hand, defects and damage found in several batches of goods delivered (with issues relating to quality standards) and, on the other hand, the unauthorised use of the client's trademark and other distinctive signs in promotional activities and digital channels of affiliated distributors. Negotiation and drafting of the settlement agreement. - Civil Law – Customs and Monopolies Authority Litigation
Assistance to a shipping company in opposition proceedings against an injunction issued by the Customs and Monopolies Agency for alleged violation of the Consolidated Law on Public Security (TULPS). We assisted the company in managing its relations with the Authority and in defining its defence strategy, preparing the appeal with a request for suspension before the Court of Florence. The assignment included reviewing compliance measures and updating internal procedures to prevent future disputes. - International commercial law – International contracts
Assistance to a leading shipping company in the negotiation and drafting of a contract with a foreign supplier for the supply and installation of entertainment systems on board ships, taking care of the structure of the transaction and the negotiation strategy. We verified the compliance of the transaction with maritime and safety regulations, as well as the need for technical certifications and administrative requirements required by national legislation and international conventions. - Transport law – Assistance in the negotiation of a transport contract.
Assistance to a leading large-scale retail company in the analysis of regulatory changes in the field of transport and logistics, mapping their impact on freight transport operations (domestic and cross-border) and translating them into contractual safeguards. We also supported the company in drafting the framework agreement and negotiating with carriers. - Insurance Law – Insurance litigation in the field of logistics
Assistance to an insurance company in an indemnity proceeding brought by the insured following the theft of goods during transport and storage at the carrier's warehouse. We reconstructed the chain of custody and contractual relationships (carrier, any sub-carriers and depositary), verifying the allocation of risks, the effectiveness of coverage and any exclusions, deductibles and policy limits. We prepared the defence and managed the out-of-court/court negotiations, also with a view to recourse/subrogation against the responsible parties, with the aim of limiting the financial exposure and settling the claim efficiently.
