Gianluca Gennai joined the Bologna office of Zunarelli – Studio Legale Associato in December 2020.
He operates mainly in the field of administrative and public procurement law, maritime and port law, recreational boating law, transport and logistics law, providing judicial and extrajudicial advice and assistance at national and international level.
He graduated in Law at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna in November 2020 and obtained the Licence en Droit and the bilingual Master, specialization French Law/Italian Law at Université Paris Ouest Nanterre – La Défense (Paris X).
He has been a member of the Bologna Bar Association since January 2024.

- Aviation law – international debt recovery
Assistance provided to a British company for the recovery of a debt owed by an African airline. The intervention required the rapid seizure of the debtor's aircraft, a measure that allowed the debt to be satisfied.
- Antitrust law and consumer protection – assistance in preliminary proceedings initiated by the Italian Competition Authority
Assistance provided to a US company in preliminary proceedings initiated by the Italian Competition Authority for the alleged adoption of unfair commercial practices under the Consumer Code, with the possible application of administrative sanctions.
- Civil and maritime law – civil litigation concerning ship leasing
Representation and defence of an Italian port services concessionaire in opposition proceedings against an injunction relating to the leasing of nautical equipment and anti-pollution equipment before the Court of Taranto.
- Administrative and maritime law – out-of-court assistance with concession due diligence
Legal assistance and out-of-court advice for a leading national company in the dry bulk port sector with a terminal network in central and northern Italy for the acquisition of the share capital of a terminal operator. The due diligence activity focused in particular on the maritime state concessions and port authorisations held by the target company.
- Administrative and maritime law – out-of-court assistance in extending the duration of a maritime state concession for the management of a marina
Legal assistance and out-of-court advice for a company holding a maritime state concession for the management of a marina. In particular, the assistance concerned the procedure for extending the duration of the maritime state concession on the basis of new investments proposed by the concessionaire for the upgrading of port facilities and the maintenance of their functionality.
